Plain Wilton

These are carpets of one color. Each row of fluff is formed on a metal wire and then recovered in the weaving sequence. If a knife is attached to the wire, it will cut the wool during the withdrawal of the knife to form a Wilton carpet. If the pile is not cut in the process of withdrawing the knife, it will form loop pile. This kind of carpet is called Brussels.
